Forza Horizon 6, set to release on May 19, 2026, is making huge strides in how players interact in the game’s open world. The new cooperative features are designed to enhance the social experience, allowing players to seamlessly connect and collaborate in ways never before seen in the Forza series.

Seamless Social Hubs

One of the most game-changing updates in Forza Horizon 6 is the shift to a shared world where players can interact in real-time, without loading screens or separate lobbies. This gives the game a persistent community feel, where the world is constantly alive with activities. Key features include:

Integrated Car Meets: These are no longer just menu-based events but physical locations within the open world. Players can pull up, show off their cars, download liveries, and even purchase the exact builds from other players.

Drag & Time Attack Circuits: Special zones like Drag Meets and Horizon Time Attack Circuits let players jump straight into races. No waiting in lobbies—just drive up and join in.

Customizable Garages: The game introduces personalized garages where players can hang out with friends, view their automotive collections, and even invite others to take a look at their custom builds.

Collaborative Building and Gameplay

Co-op in Forza Horizon 6 goes beyond racing, with new tools and systems for collaboration and progression:

Horizon CoLab: This new feature is a major expansion of the EventLab system. It allows up to 12 players to build custom tracks and events together in real-time, directly on the map. Now, players can shape the world around them with friends, creating unique racing experiences.

Co-op LINK Skills: Players can now earn buffs and multipliers by performing similar skills at the same time, such as drifting or avoiding near-misses together. This creates a more collaborative experience, rewarding players for teamwork in ways that directly impact gameplay.

The Estate: A large, customizable mountain valley area where players can build and decorate their compounds. Friends can visit each other’s estates, making the world feel more personal and connected.

Convoy and Progression Changes

Forza Horizon 6 introduces several changes that make playing in convoys more rewarding:

Aftermarket Drops: Rare cars are now tied to player rank, but when in a convoy, the leader’s rank determines the rarity of car drops for everyone in the group. This means lower-ranked players have a chance to access rare vehicles earlier, making it easier to progress with friends.

Full Campaign Support: The entire campaign is designed to support cooperative play, allowing players to share customized race variants—such as weather and traffic settings—within their squad. This gives groups the ability to tailor the game to their preferred playstyle.

Removal of Clubs: In a significant shift, traditional Xbox "Clubs" have been removed in favor of a more organic, in-world social system. Players can now form long-term crews based on shared interests and gameplay styles, with interactions happening naturally within the world itself.

A New Era for Multiplayer

With these new features, Forza Horizon 6 is pushing the boundaries of what multiplayer can be in an open-world racing game. From seamless social hubs and real-time collaborative building to the deeper co-op progression systems, the game is designed to make playing with friends more immersive and rewarding than ever before. Whether you’re building tracks, racing through Time Attack Circuits, or simply hanging out in your personalized garage, Forza Horizon 6 is setting a new standard for cooperative play in racing games.
